Aura Precision engineered bottle opener

Designed from the ground up, with multi materials. Ergonomics, and style are at the forefront of this design. We begun the process with some rather rudimentary 3D printed prototypes, in order to perfect the action and geometry of the body for compatibility and ease of use when using it as a bottle opener. Once we had a design that we liked, it was time to work on the ergonomics, but creating reliefs and blended contours with chamfers all over. Resulting in an ultra modern, stylised product that is customisable and suited for all.

The main body of Aura is machined using 3-axis CNC, with two operations. We rough out the majority of the material, and finish the top side, and created soft jaws to securely fixture and locate the component for the second operation. Carbon plates are held in with countersunk M2 hardware, which are drilled and tapped by hand, before cleaning, assembly and packaging.
